Venatio Creo

Venatio Creo Online Documentation

Overview
Venatio Creo Online is a fully featured port of the Venatio Creo game development system that runs entirely in a web browser. You can still create great fully featured games using an entirely WYSIWYG editor interface, but now sharing your games has never been easier. Simply create your game, then save it to your computer as a .VC file. This small plain-text file can then be uploaded anywhere on the internet that direct linking is supported. Once you have your game online, simply share the link with friends and they can enjoy your game instantly! All of your linked assets will be downloaded automatically on their machine, eliminating the need to send large game files.

Requirements
Venatio Creo Online requires that your device support Silverlight 4. It is highly recommended that you use a mouse and keyboard while creating and playing games with Venatio Creo Online. Venatio Creo Online is compatible with most major browsers (IE, Chrome, FireFox, Opera, Safari, etc...) and can benefit from graphics card acceleration in certain cases. Venatio Creo Online game files tend to be very small, so hard drive space is not a concern in most cases.

Privileges
Venatio Creo Online is designed to run in a low privileged environment. However, certain functions require extended privileges such as entering full-screen mode, typing in full-screen mode and graphics card acceleration. You will also be required to allow elevated privileges when you install Venatio Creo Online to your computer.

Using Venatio Creo Online
Venatio Creo Online is available via the "Venatio Creo Online" button on the toolbar at the top of this site. When you first load the page, it will ask if you to install Microsoft Silverlight (if necessary) and then download a small file to your internet cache. Once this file is downloaded, Venatio Creo Online will start up instantly and you can begin creating games.

Venatio Creo Online Controls
Your mouse is the primary tool required to interact with Venatio Creo Online. Left click to make your selection within menus, and use right click to open up additional context menus if available.

Tip: You can press 'F1' at any time to toggle full-screen mode. You may experience reduced performance while inside full-screen mode.

When you are inside the Game World Editor, use the Left and Right click on your mouse to select tiles and objects. Left click selects a single entity, while right clicking allows you to select multiple entities.

You can scroll around the map by placing your mouse cursor on the edge of the window, or by using your arrow keys while you are in the Game World Editor.

Sharing your Games
Sharing games with Venatio Creo Online is easy! From inside the Game World Editor, simply click on the 'Save' button. You will then be prompted to save your game to your computer. Take that file, and upload it to your web server or hosting solution, and then provide your friends with a direct link to the file. They can use the link directly inside Venatio Creo Online to play your game.

Please feel free to share your games on our forum in the 'Share Games' topic section. You may also use the Submit Game page to send your game to the Venatio Creo Team for review. Submitted games have a chance of being automatically included in the Game Browser.
